The My Marshalltown Map was created entirely by hand by local artist Julie Bousum using an art technique called paper piecing. Julie meticulously cut and layered hundreds of tiny pieces of paper, each one carefully chosen and placed to represent the landmarks, streets, and personality of our hometown. What you see isn’t just a map — it’s a labor of love built one scrap at a time.
 
Once the original was complete, we worked side-by-side with Julie to bring this one-of-a-kind artwork to life as a vibrant 16x20 canvas print — and we print each one right here in Marshalltown. That means when you order, you’re not only supporting a local artist, but also keeping production local from start to finish.
